I am a Christian, a wife, mother, stepmom, foster mom, adoptive mom, special-needs mom & Grammy. I prayed for wisdom to teach my children important life lessons. God answered my prayer. He gave me visions and dreams and I record them in the form of children’s stories and picture books.
Our little family attends a local neighborhood non-denominational church. I am a Bible college graduate with an emphasis in worship. I have served as a worship leader, children’s choir director, home fellowship leader and nonprofit director serving the homeless. Being involved has given me a lot of opportunity to pray and read God’s Word. In turn, my faith has grown.
Raising a second generation of children gave me a desire to retell the stories I wrote for my older adult children when they were young. I wondered if anyone else could use these same stories for their own children. I started to write them down and submitted several of them to a few Christian publishers. To my surprise, two publishers contacted me to discuss a business relationship. I favored one company over the other and contracts were signed. My first book, Vasellia’s Eyelashes, was released in July of 2022. I am currently working with illustrators to publish my next two childrens books soon.
